Helping you bloom

If you have a garden, you’ll notice dandelions are hardy and perennial. Basically, they crop up everywhere. They don’t require watering or feeding. You can mow them and they’re back in a day or two, shrugging off the recent beheading calamity, their yellowness tilting towards the sun. Orchids on the other hand… if you’ve ever tried to get one to bloom you’ll appreciate that it requires a lot of love, effort and a wheelbarrow full of luck. Orchids require perfect soil conditions, just the right amount of feeding, a Goldilocks amount of sunshine and, even then, they might only bloom for a day or two.

The point is that some humans are like dandelions. They seem to flourish in whatever situation/job/environment you put them in. Knock ‘em down and they spring back up.

But I have an inkling that most of us are more orchid-like? We’re trying our best to bloom in an environment that seems to be working against us. And when we do bloom, it’s a quick blast of wonderfulness, and then our petals drop.

Which brings us to ‘potting on’. This is where gardeners have successfully raised a seedling or small plant to a stage where it needs more space or needs a different environment in which to thrive.

At ‘Art of Brill’ we think ‘potting on’ isn’t just about gardening.

You see, unlike when buying a plant, we don’t come with a small plastic card highlighting when to prune and water us, and how much sunshine we prefer. Many of us get to the stage where we could do with ‘potting on’ but we haven’t got a Head Gardener to do the job or lack the confidence to do it ourselves.

It’s easy to get stuck:

  • Maybe you’re rooted in the same old soil
  • It’s possible that you feel dead-headed
  • You might be lacking the right nutrients
  • The weeds might be drowning you out
  • Maybe you’re waiting (and waiting, and waiting, and waiting….) for the exact right conditions

‘Potting on’ could provide you with more than fresh compost or more space. It could give you an outlook or an attitude that really sees you thrive and grow.

At ‘Art of Brill’ we help individuals, teams and entire organizations. Give us a call; we’re in the blooming business.
