The future of workplace culture

At Art of Brill, we have one team member who actually understands American football. Clue, Pouli’s an American. The rest of us watch ‘gridiron’ and wonder what the heck’s going on.

The bit we do get is that the quarterback is a key player, as are the wide receivers. And touchdowns are important.

So here’s today’s leadership question: in order to score a touchdown, where does the quarterback have to throw the ball?

It’s not as obvious as it sounds. The quarterback doesn’t throw the ball to the wide receiver.

No. The quarterback throws the ball to where the wide receiver is going to be.

Hang on to that thought just for a second.

Technology marches forward. It’s relentless. But, trust me, the workplaces that flourish will be the ones who harness the full fat of humanity. Imagine a workplace that is engaging and fun, where everyone rocks up in ‘best self’ mode. Suspend your disbelief just for a second and consider what YOUR workplace would be like if, at the end of the working day, your employees were more energised than when they logged on? So, rather than draining them, the workplace culture invigorated them?

It’s an interesting notion. These are the days when work doesn’t feel like ‘work’. It’s your competitive advantage.

Lots of organisations have bent over backwards to create an environment that’s worth coming to work for. Hybrid working, pool tables, coffee machines, gym membership, beanbags… and yet despite the jaw-dropping environment, some employees still fail to engage.

We’ll help you move towards where the ball is going to be. We’ll help you get ahead of the game by helping your staff engage with life itself.
